The Roots of GMLS
Created by Dr. Yanli He, Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, the Global Motherhood Leadership Summit (GMLS) highlights the unique traits, perspectives, and relationships that mothers bring to both their families and professional lives. At the same time, the leadership skills developed in the workplace empower mothers to effectively resolve family conflicts, foster healthy relationships, and raise their children with wisdom at home.
In 2024, Dr. He applied organizational leadership to motherhood by launching the inaugural GMLS, held from September 28–30 at the Hyatt Regency in Miami, Florida.
GMLS 2024 focused on four key themes:
- Leadership Traits for Mothers
- Motherhood Leadership Behaviors
- Motherhood Leadership Dynamics in the AI-driven Era
- Virtual Team Leadership for Mothers
Participants engaged in meaningful conversations, learned from one another’s experiences, and gained confidence in transforming motherhood into effective leadership.
GMLS 2024 celebrated the powerful intersection of leadership, motherhood, beauty, wisdom, and ethics, and fostered passion, unity, collaboration, innovation, and friendship among attendees.
The GMLS 2024 brought together diverse voices of Mothers from different countries, positions, ages, education levels, and fields of industry. Overall, mothers in leadership roles from the U.S., China, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and Puerto Rico attended this summit. Impressively, Miss Worldwide 2024, Tetyana Didenko, and her daughter participated in the summit by sharing their inspiring stories. Participants ranged in age from 26 years old to 54 years old and held positions ranging from government directors to corporate presidents, CEOs, managers, administrators, graduate students, business founders, and owners. Their educational backgrounds varied from associate degrees to bachelor’s, master’s, and PhDs. Their fields of industry included government, education, consulting, finance, accounting, law, personal services, healthcare, design, real estate, and church.
The success of GMLS 2024 laid a strong foundation for future gatherings, inspiring us to host GMLS annually to continue empowering mothers and leading positive change in today’s dynamic, digital, and AI-driven era.
